Marketing Week: Introducing the Alumni Panel
Marketing Week 2016 is just around the corner, but besides professional development and networking opportunities what else does the event provide?
Exactly a week from today, Day 1 will kick off Marketing Week 2016 with a speaker panel series and they will provide tips and information catering to all the Marketing Management program options and share valuable insight, knowledge and diverse industry experience.
Formerly BCIT students, the alumni are very personable and their stories will help you to structure the course of your path down the road. So who are these amazing individuals, whom the BCITMA are very fortunate to host?

Dan graduated from BCIT in 2011 with a diploma in Marketing Management (Professional Real Estate) and a Bachelor of Business Administration. While at BCIT, Dan was the VP of Campus Life for the BCIT Student Association as well as the VP of the BCIT chapter of SIFE (now named Enactus).
He spent his mid-twenties in Australia and now calls the Olympic Village in southeast False Creek home. He loves hockey, skiing, rugby, watersports and backgammon.
Geevan Dhesi graduated from BCIT’s Marketing Management program with a focus on Professional Sales in 2015. During her second year at BCIT, she served as President of the BCIT Marketing Association. She also worked for the Vancouver Whitecaps Football Club during her time at school, helping the organization with marketing and promotional work. After moving into a hospitality role with the club, Geevan realized that she wanted to work in a sales role in a B2B environment after graduation.
Geevan currently works as a District Manager with ADP Canada, where she works with Business Bankers, Accountants, and US ADP District Managers to sell HR and Payroll solutions to small businesses. She manages territories in Northern B.C., Saskatchewan, Hawaii, California, and Pennsylvania and works with clients who have an international presence as well.
Clarence is a Serial Entrepreneur, now involved in his 3rd start-up post BCIT. He’s been involved in Health & Beauty, mobile food truck manufacturing and now Real Estate Technology. He is currently the Director of Business Development and co-owner of an exciting new web app that just launched last month, www.biddwell.com, a game-changer for the apartment rental industry. Biddwell gives tenants tools to market themselves and compete in low-vacancy markets like Vancouver. Like LinkedIn, biddwell lets tenants create, verify and share their “Renter Resume” with prospective landlords. Biddwell also allows them to make offers on rentals. Although “offers” are quite natural in Real Estate sales, this feature has garnered us a ton of media exposure in only our first month given Vancouver’s rental crisis.
A lot of the skills I leverage in my professional career were acquired years ago during my time in BCIT’s Marketing & Entrepreneurship Program.
A proud BCIT graduate, Morgan is a well-respected marketer whose experience includes serving as Director of Sales & Marketing for the Arts and Cultural Guide to BC. For over a decade she worked in the post-secondary sector as General Manager of LinkBC, an organization dedicated to networking tourism and hospitality programs around the province and connecting with industry. She has managed several complex events with hundreds of attendees. During her time with LinkBC she was the lead author on an open textbook “Intro to Tourism and Hospitality in BC” used by thousands of students across the province. Morgan’s experience also extends to destination marketing. She was the lead content generator for the BC Lodgings and Campgrounds Association and has produced business-to-business guides for Destination British Columbia.
Morgan holds a Bachelor of Arts from UBC, a Diploma of Marketing Management from BCIT, and a Masters of Arts from Royal Roads University.
