Marketing Week Recap

Well, that’s a wrap, another year of Marketing Week has come and gone and things just keep getting better. Let’s remember what happened.

On day 1, we welcomed past BCIT alumni to come share some insight with this year’s students. We had five alumni come out and join us; Aread Leaño, Kristina Javier (Cisnero), Sarah Westwood, Clara Chau, and Ryan Francis. They shared their highs and lows at BCIT and gave insightful advice on moving into the work world.

On day 2, we hosted a Content Marketing workshop with the help of Colleen Christison from AntiSocial Solutions and Kelsie Butterworth from the Vancouver Whitecaps FC. They gave insight on how to create content and the importance behind the brand voice and brand cohesion.

On day 3, we took 30 students on an interactive tour of SAP a multinational software company in the heart of Yaletown. This was an unforgettable experience for all the candidates that got one of the spots.

On day 4, we welcomed Marion Young , Victor Tang, MBA, MCM, Erin Jay, Andrea Ton, and Jarett Lopez to BCIT from Daily Hive, Fresh Prep, SAP, Arc’teryx Equipment, and Popcorn. They shared amazing advice and experiences working in the world of marketing. Such an engaging experience.

To wrap it up on day 5, we celebrated at Lamplighter Public House in Yaletown for a night of networking, socializing, good food, and fun.

Overall, 2019 Marketing week is now in the books and was sure one to remember. Thank you to Alex Bonifacio, our VP of membership for making it happen and a big thanks to all of our speakers, and guests who attended. I can’t wait to see what’s in store for next year.
