Member of the Month, February – Britney Sunwoo
If you’ve seen the BCITMA social media platforms, chances are you’ve seen her before. February’s Member of the Month spotlight was awarded to none other than Britney Sunwoo. She’s passionate, charismatic, and she took the BCITMA social media game to the next level.
After taking on the role of managing our Instagram page and helping out with social media and digital communications, she has really earned this title. We want to thank Britney for sharing her passion with us and helping out the team.
Here’s a chance to get to know more about Britney. Congratulations, and thank you for all your help!
So, tell me about yourself!
I graduated last year, I’m really into fashion and beauty. I love being sociable and meeting new people. Also, yoga, and black coffee.
What program are you in at BCIT?
I’m in my first-year of Marketing Management in Communications.
What plans do you have after you graduate?
I’m interested in digital marketing and doing creative work. I want to travel and hopefully work with different clients within my job. I want a job where I have lots of different projects and variety. Nothing boring- always something new!
How did you get involved with the BCITMA?
I wanted to join a club when I started at BCIT. I’ve known Anna Liu, VP of Membership, for a long time and she told me about the MA. I was a bit nervous and hesitant at first, but I went to the General Meeting at the beginning of the year to learn more. I thought the Communications and Digital Media committees sounded interesting, so I joined the club!
What has been your favorite part of being in the BCITMA?
The best memory for me was getting to take charge of the social media coverage, especially for the Regional Sales Conference. I’ve also really enjoyed helping to design the website and to create a platform for the public.
Do you have anything to say to people who are thinking about joining the BCITMA?
There’s been nothing bad about my experience, there’s always a learning opportunity. It’s an opportunity to meet new people, make friends, and network. It gives you a chance to network with your peers in a different setting, outside of class.
