Member of the Month, October- Emma Brooks

It’s only been a few months into school and this first year is already striving! Introducing BCITMA’s October member of the month, the beautiful Emma Brooks. While managing the workload of a BCIT student, she has also taken on the role as first-year Digital media director. Emma has really earned this title with all of her contributions to the Digital Media committee!

Here’s a chance to get to know Emma a bit more.

Question 1: What made you decide to join the MA?

Answer: “My friend Erin invited me to attend one of the committee meetings. At first, I just wanted to be a part of the MA, I didn’t expect to be a director or anything. I had experience with website building and editing software, so when I got offered the position of digital media director, I decided to do it. It’s a lot but I am really enjoying it!

Question 2: What are your roles as the first year digital media director?

Answer: As for my roles, I have been building content and updating the Schmooze website. Also making creatives for Facebook and Instagram and ensuring that they get posted in time.

Question: 3: What are your goals for your first year?

Answer: “As of now, I am currently in the general studies option, but I’m hoping to get into marketing communications for my second year. But honestly, it’s all about having fun! I feel like every BCIT student Is super stressed, but I haven’t been that stressed yet. Just trying to make the most of it”

Question 4: If you could travel anywhere where would you go?

Answer: “Bali for sure. Every time I see an Instagram post about Bali, it makes me want to go so badly.”

Questions 5: What is your all-time favorite movie?

Answer: “Probably Monsters Inc. The songs are constantly rolling in my head.”

Question 6: Where do you see yourself in the next five years?

Answer: “In the next 5 years, I’m hoping to complete my diploma in marketing communications, and I might do my BBA part-time so I could work and live on my own. But my dream is to get an internship at Lululemon in the Marketing department”

SPEED questions:

Q: Summer or winter?

A: “Summer for sure. I do not like the cold at all right now.”

Q: Cake or ice cream?

A: “Why not ice cream cake?”

 Q: Coffee or Tea?

A: “Coffee. Lately, I’ve been drinking a lot of black coffee with almond milk”

Q: Does pineapple go on pizza?

A: “I think so. I don’t necessarily like pineapple on my pizza, but I have nothing against it.”

Thank you, Emma, for all your hard work towards the MA! Congratulations!
