Name: Lauren Jung (she/her)
BCITMA Position: VP of Operations & VP of Regional Conference

Why did you join the BCITMA?
"I joined BCITMA because I wanted to take on more leadership positions and be involved with my school. BCITMA looked like an amazing opportunity to do exactly that while making meaningful connections with peers and industry professionals.”

What does your role look like as a VP of your committee?
”As VP of two committees, it almost feels like working a 9-5 with constant emails and back-to-back meetings. But in the end, seeing ARC come together was totally worth it, and I can't wait to see how AMAICC turns out this year for Operations.”

Do you have any experiences you would like to share from your time as a VP?
”Delegating is key! Nobody can do everything. Delegate your workload to the right people and trust that they can do the job well.”

How do you keep your personal and work/school life balanced?
”Maximize every minute and keep your lives separate. Maximize those 2-3 hour breaks in between classes, so you don't take your work home and, vice-versa, rest while you're home. Your home should be a relaxing place, and being efficient with your time will allow you to keep it that way.”

Can you share what you’ve learned so far with BCITMA?
”BCITMA is a great resource for making new connections. The AMA is a highly reputable organization, and you can't undermine the reputation we've built to expand your own network.”

Any tips or tricks you would like to share with Marketing students?
”Make a master list of all the work you need to get done and prioritize your work while updating it regularly. I've learned that making a daily or weekly to-do list is just not realistic since you may have events, family gatherings, or sick days that disrupt your workflow and creating 1 list to check off as much as you can when you get that hit of motivation can be the best method.”
